have you ever thought about setting up a proper business entity? Is it really worth the hassle? I’ve been freelancing for a while, but I’m wondering if registering a sole proprietorship or even an LLC would give me more credibility—or just more paperwork. What are the costs involved, and does it actually help land better clients? Anyone who’s done this, was it a game-changer or just an extra expense?

Freelancing is already tough, but retaining clients? Even tougher. Some disappear after one project, while others keep coming back. I want more of the latter. Should I be offering discounts, free revisions, or maybe small perks like priority service? I don’t want to undervalue my work, but I also want clients to feel they’re getting value. What actually works to keep clients loyal without making myself a charity?

Dear Hiring Manager, I am currently based in UAE and looking for remote work based in Singapore. I have extensive experience in Audit including Deloitte audit background with various industries except cryptocurrency. I have exposure in accounting system such as Quickbooks, Xero, Sage, Tally, SAP for any bookkeeping task as well. If you are able to provide sponsorship, I’m able to relocate in Singapore and work full-time. [Comment has been removed due to a violation of community guidelines]

Freelancing is already tough, but you know what makes it worse? Other freelancers sabotaging each other. 😩 Some undercut rates so low till it doesn't make sense, making it harder for everyone to charge what they’re worth. Some even steal clients or badmouth others just to get a job. The market is already small, why are we killing ourselves?? Have you encountered this kind of backstabbing? How do we stop this? We should be lifting each other up, not dragging each other down.

I do freelance graphic design and content creation, and honestly, it used to be way easier to get clients. Referrals and repeat customers kept me busy, but lately, work has slowed down. More people are offering similar services, AI tools are making some jobs redundant, and clients are cutting budgets. I’ve tried adjusting my rates, but that alone doesn’t seem to help. Should I focus on networking, upgrading my skills, or marketing myself better? How do you keep projects flowing?

Freelance life is great until the workload suddenly become a lot. Especially when it involves round of amendments. I'm blessed with all the clients but totally need help. So now I’m considering passing some tasks to another freelancer, whoever interested to get extra side job can let me know.

Has anyone here been cheated by a client as a freelancer? I completed a job and delivered everything as promised, but the client only paid 20% of the agreed amount and hasn’t paid the rest. What can I do to get the remaining payment? I’m really frustrated and don’t know if I should just let it go or take further action. Any advice on how to deal with clients like this and make sure I get paid what I’m owed?

Hey guys how do you stay on top of taxes? My income’s all over the place with multiple clients and I’m worried I’m missing something and might face penalties. Do you use any specific tools or systems to track your earnings and expenses? Right now, it feels like I’m just winging it and hoping for the best. Any tips or advice to help manage this better would be greatly appreciated!

Imagine you got last-minute holiday project requests from clients, the ones who need everything done ASAP but then complain when you mention festive surcharges. Have you guys deal with that? tbh it's tough for me to find the right balance, especially since I’m already juggling my own holiday plans. I don’t want to scare off clients, but I also want to make sure I’m being paid fairly for the extra effort.

Freelancing was supposed to mean FREEDOM, but now I’m burnt out. Clients keep piling on work, and it’s hard to draw boundaries when I’m scared of losing income. Weekends blur into weekdays, and I feel like I’m always working but never truly resting. Anyone else dealt with this? How do you combat burnout as a freelancer? Do I need to start saying “no” more, or is there a better way to manage? Truthfully, I've been dreading this feeling bcz this is my only source of income 😖
