Those who got retrenched, how do you bounce back? Need some supportive words from you guys. 🙏 Since I got laid off last year, it's been so challenging getting back on my feet. Can't help but to compare myself with my peers who are enjoying life with families, owning properties, buying cars, travelling overseas while me struggling to secure a new job at 37 years old. Never once I imagine myself would be in this situation so it's been very hard for me to navigate. Pray for my mental health TQ

Just sharing my experience. For companies who don't have enough budget to hire someone PERMANENTLY, please don't advertise your job as so and then suddenly change it to contract-based without informing the candidate first. Luckily I haven't signed anything. I went through all the process from start to end thinking that I'll be working as permanent staff after 3 months probation but apparently there's a slight "mistake" in the advertisement and now it's a contract job. Wasted my time seriously!

I went for an interview recently for what was advertised as a full-time job at an SME. Everything went well, they asked for my payslip and referee contacts. But after interview, the manager suddenly said they’re changing the role to a 6-month contract, “subject to review.” If I do well, I might become permanent or be extended for another year depending on management’s decision. This sudden change makes me wonder if I should be concerned or just accept that some companies work this way...?

I’ve been unemployed for about a year now, and it’s honestly been tough. I’ve sent out more than 20 job applications but haven’t gotten any replies. I really want to work and I’m just trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong or where else I should be applying.

Attended 3 interviews with this company, took a month to get back to me after the last interview and offered me an employment contract. Tendered notice with my current company and on the last week, they rescinded the employment contract citing failed background check. The whole process took them 2 months before offering me a contract. Now I'm jobless and unemployed as I have already trained my replacement in my previous employment.

I accepted a verbal offer 2 week ago and no update at all ever since... Every time I ask HR, they just say, “Still processing.” Processing WHAT?! My anxiety?! I left my old job for this, now I’m terrified they’ll ghost me. Do I keep waiting? Chase them harder? Or start job hunting again before it’s too late?! Silly me for believing HR's sweet words (they sound SO CONVINCING THO??) I literally don’t know what to do except maybe retract my resignation letter 🥲 Should I?

Have u ever found a job ads you applied for online 2–3 months ago being reposted? You applied again, got ghosted, or the application expired, and then a few months later....BOOM! IT COMES BACK! As a full-time job seeker, I’m seeing this trend throughout the year and I’m beginning to wonder… Is there REALLY a job opening in your company? Or are you just collecting resumes? Or is the position really tough and people come and go almost immediately? So, which is it REALLY? I'm so confused
