Sometimes I wonder if it's just how things are in Singapore where people with stable jobs are celebrated, and those like me - freelancers/part-timers are seen as “wasting time” and often look down on. My brother has a great corporate job. Me on the other hand enjoy the freedom & flexibility with no one to answer to. But my family thinks I'm a disappointment at 26 years old, with no future ahead. Am I really wrong for wanting something different? Why can't we just respect all kinds of jobs?

I get where you’re coming from, but sometimes what we enjoy isn’t enough. The world still runs on responsibilities and maybe it’s not about looking down on you, they just wanna see you at better direction.

Hmm, corporate jobs aren’t the only path to success alright. But yea, society’s idea of “success” is so narrow sometimes. What can you do is just ignore and prove it to them :)

What i'm about to spit is a bit harsh, you mentioned you enjoy the freedom, but are you growing? Or just avoiding pressure? 🙂↔️ Wanting something different is fine, but at some point, action speaks louder than words.

Freelancing sounds cool, but are you really building something sustainable? I mean, view it at long-term, if you’re not progressing or earning enough then their concern is valid thou..

I agree! cause the 9–5 path isn’t for everyone. Freelancers and part-timers keep many industries going too honestly. you know the courage to choose freedom over “security.” Just because your path looks different doesn’t mean it’s less worthy, right? :)
