Executive assistant
I've been in the healthcare industry for 15 years. Recently, my role shifted from a team-based setup to a solo position due to job rotations. The workload has increased significantly, and after 7 months, I’m still finding it tough to manage alone.
While my colleagues are supportive, handling client demands without a team has been challenging. At 45, I know job hunting isn’t easy, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s time to seek a better fit — or keep pushing through. Still weighing my options.

Amazing! Regarding your question, I'd suggest for you to keep your option open but don't quit just yet until you secure a new role. It's always good to start something new. If you didnt manage to get a new job, then it's time to raise it to the upper management about your job load. All the best shahida..

been both sides of the coin. Working individually feel great too, you probably less stuck in social situations, which can be very exhausting. Most of my work at my job is done alone. However, the growth can be limited. Your manager or boss might not notice your work.

15 years in healthcare, you’ve built quite of experience, which makes you well-qualified to explore other opportunities. Maybe consider medical communications (MedComms)?

that's very understandable. I mean, if i already reach your age... i would feel unsafe to explore new job. Lots of things that need to reconsider.. Before taking steps to resign... Have you talked to management about redistributing some of the workload or reintroducing team-based collaboration? Doing everything alone eventually will get you burnout
