I just started at this new company about 2 months ago. I've never taken any MC/AL because I'm still under probation. But this week, I had a terrible stomach ache on Monday morning. Went to the loo countless times so I texted my boss telling her that I'm going to get an MC. Surprisingly, she got super angry and she said NOBODY should take MC on Monday. It's just an unspoken rule in the working world. Question: Is it true? Second, should I resign before I got confirmed next month?

Your boss has some serious trust issues or works in a really toxic environment. When you're running to the toilet every 10 mins, you CAN'T work. THE END.

Not true and why do you want to resign?? Because your boss is a walking red flag? This young generation really cannot get scolded is it? It's normal lah when your boss get angry once in a while. No need resign. Just stay strong and continue working like nothing happen.

Maybe you shouldn’t say you want to take MC. Said you have a bad diarrhoea and need to see doctor, you suspect it was food poisoning. Sometimes it is how you deliver the message. To resign is a bit extreme. Observe and keep your options open :)

hmm... it sounds like shes super controlling.. though idk her side of the story. talk to her and let her know what happened. You still have some time before you're confirmed. You can observe your interactions with your boss and other colleagues to see if it's ultimately a place where you would like to work long term.

Firstly, this may just be your personal 1 side story.
When you are sick, yes you are down for that day.
But if it's due to your own poor performance at work, it naturally will triggered your boss on fire.
Why only you are being targeted but not others?
And wanna resign over something that might not be related to your sickness/MC?
there must always be a reason behind the scenes, so don't just jump to conclusion without knowing the facts why is your boss angry or throwing fire at you.
