Considering everything is getting more expensive now due to whatever that's going on (urrgghh), I'm thinking of moving to JB but commuting daily to SG to work. Is this a wise decision or nah? Currently I'm working hybrid, only 2x at the office so I don't need to spend a lot for travelling. Food is definitely cheaper in JB and groceries too. I can rent a whole condo for the same price of a small room in Jurong. Family-wise, I don't need to see them often so that's a blessing. So, yes or no?

Did this for 6 months and honestly it wore me down. The commute days feel like you lose the entire day. By the time you're home you're too exhausted to even enjoy the space you moved there for. What can i say, totally not for everyone...:):)

After a long office day in SG sometimes you just want to be HOME quickly. Adding an extra 1.5-2 hours to that??? That hits different when you're drained.

Bro just do the numbers. Condo in JB vs room in Jurong, cheaper groceries, cheaper food... you're probably saving $800-1200/month easy. That's a holiday every quarter. Go lah 😄

Actually theres a huge community of SG workers living in JB now, so you won't feel alone. A lot of fb groups, tips on best crossing times, carpool buddies..

Tbh, makes sense on paper. Cheaper rent & food is a BIG WIN. But the real question is: can you tahan the commute + immigration unpredictability? Since you’re only 2x office, it could work. But just be prepared for occasional chaos at the border 😅 If you value cost savings > convenience, go for it. If not, might get tiring fast. I assume you're a young man, so this could work for you.

BRO YES. Stop overthinking. People are doing this every single day already. The RTS Link is coming too which will make the commute even easier. Your wallet will literally thank you after month one. Just gooo 🙌

OMG exactly the same way as I thought!
Been working in Singapore for 10 years now and stay in here, everything is getting so expensive, and change my mind to commute daily and rent a whole unit condo there. Just need to be strong 🔥🔥❤️
