Waitperson
I was hired for as a contract staff for 2 years now. I was very optimistic that I’ll get converted to a perm but they hired my friend as a perm instead of promoting me. There’s 2 others in this company who carries the same title as me. Each of them work 1 big project a year but I’m working on a 3rd big project now (not in original discussions). I feel undervalued and taken advantage of. I’m starting to develop health issues due to stress. There’s an opening now but they still did not promote me.

Hey Joanna, very unfair! They put you in that situation. Could be worth having an honest chat with your manager about it. Sometimes they need that reminder before making decisions. Also pls taking care of your health too

You’ve already proven yourself with 3 big projects, that’s not a small thing tbh.. If they still don’t promote you despite an opening, it says a lot about them, and how they see you.. have you tried having 1on1 with your boss?

I was in the same position as you once. Worked for the same company for 4 years at the point of this story. Did everything they asked. Basically i knew everything about my industry. There was an opening for a senior position where I worked. Pay raise, better benefits and extra AL. They brought me into to interview and let me interview then said “ we are hiring outside the company and want you to train him got it.

That's very sad. Hopefully you'll able to find a way out soon or at least someone trustworthy you can rant to, cause the longer you keep this to yourselves, it's gonna be worse.
