I really want to attend this training to upgrade myself, but it's expensive and my company won’t cover it. They claim it's not relevant to my current role, but I genuinely believe it can help me contribute more in the long run. I’m torn, should I invest my own money even though there’s no support from them? Part of me feels it’s unfair, but another part wants to grow. Anyone managed to convince their boss in a situation like this? How did you show it’s worth the cost?

Investing in your growth is a big decision, especially without company support. Perhaps an informal chat with your boss could highlight how the training could benefit future projects or company goals. Creating a clear proposal on its relevance may help convince them. If covering the cost yourself is feasible, weigh potential career benefits against the personal investment.
