Fresh grad here, just joined this company 1 week ago & honestly REALLY shocked when I read my company’s manual book. EXAMPLES: If I take MC, they gonna cut my pay in half. Late 5 mins= $5 fine, 10 mins= $10, and IT INCREASES. Toilet break more than 10 mins will be flagged by HR. Also can’t use AL during notice period, must clear all leave before resigning. This is the 1st proper office job for me, so I’m a bit confused. Are these rules NORMAL in SG or am I in a red flag one?? Should i run?

The rules like AL clearing before resigning.. I've heard of that before so i guess it's common?? but cutting MC pay and timing toilet breaks? That's a bit too much laa surelyy

Wow, that's seriously wild. Definitely not normal for most companies in SG, especially the sick leave half pay thing – MOM requires 14 days of paid sick leave for full-timers after 3 months. The fines and toilet timing sound super toxic too. Honestly, it’s giving major red flag vibes. Maybe talk to someone you trust or call MOM hotline to confirm what’s legal. If it feels off and you're uncomfortable, it might be better to run early than get stuck.

I'm pretty sure half of those penalties are actually illegal!

I don't think these are reasonable. Do you agree with such a term? If you do not feel comfortable, I don't think you are happy either. Work is not just about salary; personal growth and mental health are equally important.

Bro, honestly even school detention sounds more chill than this. I get policies are there for discipline, but this.. If they don’t trust employees to manage their own time, then aiyoo i'm speechless
