Fresh out of uni, I took the first job offer I got – customer service at a random company, totally unrelated to my degree, with a salary that barely covered my Grab rides. At first, I hated it – long hours, angry customers, zero growth. But it taught me how to deal with people (and my emotions), which later helped me land a role I actually wanted. Lesson? Your first job might not be perfect, but it’s a stepping stone. Learn what you can, but don’t stay stuck.

My first gig was a disaster pay-wise, but it gave me confidence I never had before. It’s great advice to learn what you can, even if the job’s not your dream role. You never know how those skills might pay off down the line!

My first job wasn’t ideal either. it's retail, with endless shifts and grumpy customers. But looking back, those people skills I picked up were priceless. They’ve helped me so much in interviews and my current role. It’s all about taking the lessons and moving forward. You’re right, don’t stay stuck, but make the most of it while you’re there!
