need some honest advice. I told HR my expected salary is $4k (which I thought was fair), but she said that’s “too high” for a fresh grad and the best they can offer is $3.3k. Now I’m confused… most of my friends started at $4k or more, so I’m wondering if I’m being lowballed or if this is normal for certain companies. Should I just take it for the experience or hold out for something better?

Snr Customer Account Executive
Depends on the industry, based on the business concept and financial outlook of the company. Larger MNC will provide better starting point, but will mean that positions are snatched up. Recommend to take up while looking for others, won’t hurt either.

Graduate
Ngl, I was in the same boat last year. I took a lower offer because I liked the team and the role turned out to be super worth it. But if you’re feeling undervalued, it’s okay to say no.
