I'm actively looking for jobs and some of my close friends have already secured theirs right after graduation. Lucky them! BUT what surprises me is that they're all openly sharing their 1st salary to make sure nobody in the group gets a lowball offer. I'm super thankful for my friends because they help set a benchmark and give me confidence to ask for what I'm worth during interviews. Friends like this are to die for! No jealousy among us, only supportive friendship along the way. ✌️❤️

lucky you! all friends are very supportive. To be open about salary is super rare, even among families. What you guys did there help to have the fairness. Something new to learn here, Atleast your friends if there's any way or tips to do negotiations next. Anyway... best wishes for you mate :)

not sure why people still think it's sensitive to share salaries. My point is, people shouldn't even compare salaries because skillsets/experiences/negotiation tactics are all different. What you have right now, is the kind of friendship everyone should have. If someone is jealous of another, then work harder to get there. There will be a reason why that person is paid higher.

Sounds nice… but not everyone is that lucky...right? Most friend groups I know get awkward or even toxic when it comes to jobs and salary. Just saying 🤪

ngl, I felt a little envy at first reading “friends already secured jobs” 😅 but the way you put it makes me smile. True friends celebrate each other’s wins and make sure nobody gets shortchanged. That’s one in a million! Wishing you land a great role soon so you can join in the cheer too. ✨

With close friends, I think it's fine to discuss in a healthy way (e.g., to give each other financial advice, and not for bragging purposes).
