Pls tell me if I'm making the biggest mistake of my life or if I'm on the right path. A fresh grad, 6 months jobless, finally got an offer. Salary SGD2.5k + 7days AL. The company is quite small, hence the salary but they promise that I'll surely learn a lot and gain good exposure from working there. My family says just take the offer & keep applying elsewhere for better opportunity. My GF says it's too little, not worth it, and that I should keep looking. I'm torn in between. Pls help.

It’s easy for others to say “keep looking” when they’re not in your shoes. If the job helps you build skills and can help you pays the bills, it’s worth starting. Just make sure you don’t settle forever...

Hmm talking from a fresh grad after 6 months jobless pov, I'd say taking this offer can help you rebuild momentum, gain real working experience, and boost your resume. Yes, the pay is low, but it’s not forever. If the learning is solid, take it and keep applying for better roles. You just gotta start somewhere and trust the process.

you've been 6 months jobless. it's time to grab that offer first. Atleast you can build up some experience there. Plus, there have been so many layoffs now, be grateful you've found something stable for you to survive

Fresh grad don’t expect too much.. I’m already cross half a decade of my life.. I’m specialised in finance jobs.. applied to many banks for the last 3 years to no avail.. fcuk it and don’t waste time.. tried smaller firm.. they appreciate my experience instead of my age … same day interview and got offer on the spot… giving higher than my expected salary.. don’t give up is the motto

Don’t need to regret because you took a lower salary. Gain the experience and if u receive better offer or somewhere u want to be then go for it . Now in Singapore it’s hard to get a job even if u have the qualifications.

I assume you are Diploma grad. $ wise its around the market rate for fresh grad. Around 10yrs ago I started as fresh Poly grad and was only given $1800 ( + OT) as well. However the industry was my preferred goal. So i took it and climbed the ladder.
I suggest you to take it and give it a go. If things goes south, you can look for another one while working there. Gain the skills and learn as much as you can from the role.

I'm jobless for 7 months. I'm in office line for 9 years. I did apply PT/Temporarily role for other roles also they didn't consider me. It's easy for people to say keep searching & searching. Not only that, I did apply for other roles that are not my forte, also the agency didn't call. So how?
