Dunno why fresh grads nowadays are so daring AND demanding!! In my time, during interviews we never dare to ask for high salary, WFH arrangement, work-life balance, health benefits etc. You just take what the company give you lah. The fact that companies are willing to take you in is already a blessing you know? Now when I interview fresh grads the FIRST thing they ask is how much money will i get? 🤦‍♀️ Is MONEY the ONLY thing that matters?? I can't lah with this Gen Z attitude. So terrible!

I get it, But it was different back then. Cost of living is increasing and everything is so expensive. So i feel, it’s kinda okay to ask for higher salary?

Auntie, you see the cost of living now VS the cost of living during your time, got difference or not? If yes then why are you so angry when we ask adequate amount of salary equivalent to the rising cost of living and the amount of work that we do. It's win-win situation ma.

Walaooo genZ’s priorities are different. It’s unfair to say that, it’s not that they’re ungrateful it’s another view of healthy worklife balance

Before you want to post for interview, ask yourself whether the salary that you wanna offer is realistic or not. Do not compare the past and present days as it is obviously unrealistic. And don't compare locals with FTs as both are different in terms of place of origin. Be reasonable and practical with life. Experience can be gained through daily work however, salary is still the main source in order to be in line with economy changes and to sustain and provide for the family.

We can’t compare to the previous time we had in our time. Our time 2k already happy, now 2k is just paper.. as everything goes up, we understand that experience counts, with the qualification but depend.. if u offered 2k but yr position is PA, will that worth? Of course not. So for me, depends on how you look at it.. and yes Money everything, without money u tink can survive..? U go out frm home take a bus, already 90cents. Last time our time 50cents, also hard to get frm parents u know

Maybe it’s hard for u to get that times have changed and people today know their worth. Just because in your time people stayed silent and took whatever was handed to them doesn’t mean it was the best way. Costs have skyrocketed, so yes, pay and benefits do matter, and people want to know they’re being compensated fairly. If expecting a livable wage, health benefits, and work-life balance is such a problem, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate what’s considered ‘too daring.’ It’s called progress.
