Working in healthcare in SG right now feels like running a marathon with no finish line. Staffing shortages are worse than ever, hospitals are overcapacity, and patient demands keep rising. The government is planning to add thousands of new hospital beds by 2030, but let’s be real—who’s going to staff them? Wages are set to increase for public healthcare workers next year, but will that be enough to stop people from leaving?

It’s like patching a sinking ship with tape. Wages going up is great on paper, but if conditions don’t change, people will still walk. We need better staffing policies, more respect for our time, and honestly, just to be treated like humans.
