Engineering Role
I’m preparing for a big interview, and I’ve been wondering...during interviews in Singapore, is it okay to use some Singaporean slang or is it better to stick to proper English? I mean, sometimes using local terms like "lah" or "lor" feels more natural to me, but I’m worried it might make me come across as unprofessional. Would love to hear your thoughts on whether using our local lingo is acceptable or if it’s better to tone it down and just speak in formal English.

Depends on the company culture tbh. For startups or local SMEs, light Singlish might be fine. But if it's a big MNC or formal role, I’d tone it down. Better to come off polished first, then show personality later!
