I purposely lowered down my expected salary to match all the jobs that I applied for and to my surprise, there are still companies who don't hire me because they think I might leave as soon as I found a better job with higher salary. 😅 Even though I've tried my best to convince them that I'm gonna stay as long as possible, they just find it hard to believe. FYI, there are people like me.. we are hungry for experience, skills and knowledge, not just mere paycheck. Give us a chance, ok? 😉

Not everyone thinks like you and that makes you special. The companies passing on you? They're missing out big time. When you find the right match, they're gonna appreciate your drive SO much.

Hahahahaha...sorry, I can’t fully agree with you on this one. In this economy, money is everything! Bills, rent, saving for the future etc. Gotta be realistic too. Skills and experience are important, but let’s be honest, the money comes first.

I mean... are you SURE you won't leave though? Be honest with yourself. When rent goes up or you see colleagues earning more, that 'experience over money' thing might not feel so great.

Yeah but let's be real, most people DO leave for better pay. Employers know. They've seen this pattern a million times. Saying you're 'hungry for experience' might come off as a line they've heard before. Hard truth but maybe reconsider your approach?

I relate to this a lot. Many candidates adjust expectations because priorities change — stability, work-life balance, or meaningful contribution can matter more than pay. It does feel unfair when assumptions are made instead of having open conversations.
