I accepted a verbal offer 2 week ago and no update at all ever since... Every time I ask HR, they just say, “Still processing.” Processing WHAT?! My anxiety?! I left my old job for this, now I’m terrified they’ll ghost me. Do I keep waiting? Chase them harder? Or start job hunting again before it’s too late?! Silly me for believing HR's sweet words (they sound SO CONVINCING THO??) I literally don’t know what to do except maybe retract my resignation letter 🥲 Should I?

Went through the same thing too. in my case better to keep on applying for jobs nonstop to at least have a higher chance of security for a job opening.

tbh HR playing the waiting game AFTER you’ve already resigned is such a red flag. At this point, you need to push harder like give them a firm deadline! If they still dont extend you a proper offer, start job hunting again. And if your current company hasn't found a replacement yet, just take back your resignation letter lah. Better be safe than sorry

Same case to me. It’s been almost a month since a accepted a verbal job offer. Every week I ask for an update and they will say still under approval. Now, they will say my application is on hold. It’s so frustrating because I turn down my other job offer for this company.

Next time, if there’s no contract, it’s just words. Start looking again ASAP (jic yknow) and if they come back with an offer, great, but don’t wait around when they’re not respecting your time. Also, if you can retract your resignation, it might be worth a shot. No shame in protecting yourself.

Never tender your resignation from the existing company till you have signed off confirmation letter with the new company, no matter what.

I had something similar happen to me a few months back, the recruiter promised me on multiple occasions they would have an answer for me within weeks then i waited until end of the month.. totally MIA. I moved on.

HR’s 'still processing' usually means they’re either disorganized or something’s off internally. Either way, two weeks with zero updates isn’t normal. Push them for an actual date
