My company’s going through a rough patch, and as one of the upper management, I have to work with HR to lay off some staff. I really don’t want to let anyone go, especially the younger staff who’ve brought so much energy and potential. It’s my first time dealing with this, and I want to do it with as much empathy and respect as possible. Any advice on how to handle these conversations and support them through this tough period? Appreciate any pointers 🙏🏻

Layoffs are never easy, especially when it’s not about performance. Maybe try giving them enough context so they don’t blame themselves. And if you can, help them with job leads or upskilling options
