Digital Sales Manager
My company’s going through a rough patch, and as one of the upper management, I have to work with HR to lay off some staff. I really don’t want to let anyone go, especially the younger staff who’ve brought so much energy and potential. It’s my first time dealing with this, and I want to do it with as much empathy and respect as possible. Any advice on how to handle these conversations and support them through this tough period? Appreciate any pointers 🙏🏻

Human Resources Executive
It’s hard, especially when you know they have potential. In these situations, try to focus on being as human as possible. Express your regret, listen to their feelings, and offer any resources available to help with the transition. Empathy and sympathy are very important.
