Becoming a manager is really NOT JUST about overseeing work or hitting KPIs. When I got promoted, I quickly realised there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. You’re suddenly responsible for team morale, settling conflicts, & making sure everyone feels heard + supported. It’s tough because you have to balance being THE BOSS and being approachable. People don’t always see the mental load of decision-making or guiding team growth behind the scenes. Sometimes I do feel lonely in this journey hmm

Totally get this! No one warns you that leadership can feel isolating. You’re juggling performance expectations and emotions, and it’s hard when you can’t always be 100% open with your team. I try to remind myself that I’m not alone.. other managers struggle with this too.
