I noticed 1 of my employees would change into casual attire after 6PM before leaving the office. As her manager I felt it was important to address that we need to maintain professionalism until the end of the workday. It wasn't about judging her, but about setting boundaries to ensure we reflect the company’s values. I pulled her aside, hoping she understood my intentions were to uphold a professional image, not criticize her. But she took it negatively. Am i being too strict?

Hmm, it doesn’t sound like you’re being too strict, just maybe a bit rigid. If it’s after hours and work’s done, maybe there’s room for some flexibility?

In my view if the person changes into casual attire and does not come to the office to showoff to others in the team then it is okay. If the person does come back to show off to others then please talk to them not to do that
