1 of my teammates has been taking MC at least once a month, always for the same reasons either headache or stomachache. At first, I let it slide bcz people do get sick. But after a few months, it started feeling too convenient. I don’t want to be that micromanaging boss who questions every MC, but it’s affecting the team. Deadlines get pushed & others hv to cover for her. How do you investigate something like this without looking like a villain? Do you just confront or find proof first?

Honestly I’d observe a bit more before jumping to conclusions. Could be stress-related or even something chronic they’re not ready to disclose. Maybe track how it’s impacting workflow, then talk to her with facts, not assumptions. Approach it with empathy, not accusation.

If the colleague is entitled to take an MC then it is fair enough, if he/she is not entitled to take mc then see is there is too much stress on him/her. Alter your team plan and schedule to cater to the newly found team capability. Last case speak to the person what's wrong
