Studied in Arts degree but honestly i'm eyeing for career in procurement. Not exactly the most common path, I know. Most job listings ask for supply chain, business, or engineering degrees, but procurement seems more about negotiation, vendor management, and strategy—which I think I can do! But I’m wondering, do I even stand a chance or is it a long shot? Should I upskill first, or just try applying and see what happens?

Not a long shot at all! Many roles care more about what you can do than what you studied. If you can show you understand vendor management, contracts, and cost-saving strategies, you’re in the game. Apply to entry-level roles, but also consider a certification like CIPS or a short procurement course—it could boost your chances. Keep an open mind and go for it!
