HAve you encounter any over promising vendors? Like they guarantee you stock, confirm delivery dates, and everything looks good until last minute, ‘Sorry, got delay.’ By then, internal teams are already chasing us for updates like it’s our fault. And if we try to switch vendors, suddenly got politics involved. long-term relationships, preferred suppliers, or management punya ‘friend.’ How do you deal with suppliers who just can’t be consistent??

i will just switch to another suitable vendors/supplier. Since they did not meet the criteria next time. no hard feeling, it just a job. unless management insist to continue using them due to their "friendship" then no choice. i will have a small talk with internal parties involve to let them know.

Been there, and it’s painful. Best way is to document every promise they make.. emails, meeting minutes, everything. When they fail, escalate with proof. If politics come into play, then at least management can’t deny there’s a problem. Also, diversifying suppliers (even unofficially) can help prevent last-minute disasters.
