Hey fellow QS, I’ve been handling cost estimates, site visits, and contractor issues for a while now. Thinking it’s time to ask for a raise, but honestly not sure how to bring it up without sounding pushy or ungrateful. How do you approach this conversation with your manager? Any tips on timing, what to say, or how to prove you deserve it? Appreciate any advice from those who’ve successfully asked for a pay bump!

Hey, respect for putting it out there. My take? Timing is key, catch your manager when things are calm, not in the middle of chaos. I usually prepare a small doc with my achievements, cost savings, and positive feedback. Keep the tone appreciative but firm. You’re not asking for a favor you’re asking for fair recognition. Hope it goes well!
