QSs, how do you bounce back from a major mistake? I messed up the budgeting for a project where I miscalculated some parts, and now it’s costing the company more than expected. Got some delays too. My boss is obviously pissed, and I know I’m partly responsible, but I don’t think the blame should fall fully on me. I’m trying to fix it now but not sure how to even start salvaging this. Anyone ever been in a similar situation? How did you recover and not lose your job?

Hmm, well we’ve all had slip-ups. I made a big error in variation order pricing once. I focused on being proactive: flagged the issue, suggested workarounds, and followed up closely. Boss was mad, but they saw I was trying to fix it, not hide it. So yeah....
