If you work from home or remotely, how long do you take to respond to work email or to your boss's whatsapp text?
A - immediately
B - after 10 mins
C- after 30 mins
D - after 1-2 hours
Whatever your answer is, tell me your reasons below because I wanna know why! FYI, I'm a manager and I'm so annoyed when people especially my team, reply me late! Why ha? I thought you're supposed to be contactable at all times??

Depends on what I'm doing! In a video call? D. Doing admin stuff? A. Writing a report? C. We're not machines lah. Being contactable doesn't mean being instantly available 24/7. That's a recipe for burnout and resentment from your team tbh.

As a manager, it’s fair to expect responsiveness, but “contactable at all times” isn’t realistic. Clear norms help. Immediate or within 10 minutes is reasonable for urgent matters. For non-urgent work, 30 minutes may be acceptable if the person is focused on tasks. What matters is accountability: acknowledge promptly, set expectations, and follow through.

Depending on time, if it's still working time, then make send to at least reply within the hour. but if out of working time, then i dont bother to reply instantly

Honestly A most times! I keep notifications on because I don't want to hold anyone up. Working from home is a privilege and staying responsive just makes sense to me.

Personal Assistant to the Vice President
Immediately coz you are in working hours period unless its your lunch break or u go toilet otherwise will normally reply immediately. Even if not replying immediately, the courtesy way is to apologies for late reply and give reason why too.

C. Mainly because I take my time to really understand what you're asking for. Or else, i might make mistake and then you scold me for not understanding you the first time. To keep the harmony, I choose to calm down, check, double check info, and only then i reply.
