Fresh grad with no experience CANNOT demand salary bcz it's unfair for those who've worked longer here. Besides, 1st job is a learning process. After 1 year later, SURELY we'll increase your salary -- what HR told me. After 1 year, NOTHING! I tendered, find another job. Boss asked why i want to resign? I said salary too low. He asked how much you want? I said 20% more. He said CANNOT. too high. Other company also won't give. But i proved him wrong. Secured a job with 30% increment & left 😎

Honestly, the 'fresh grads shouldn’t demand a high salary’ feels like it’s always gonna stay there. It's something companies use to lowball fresh grads, and it’s hard to change. Good on you for not sticking around too long. No choice! If you aiming for high pay, job hopping is the answer. Tis a bold move but you just have to face it and do it

👏👏👏 Served him right! That's how we should teach companies that didn't keep their promises. I also joined a company for experience and promised of increased salary before but like you also, i got tricked. Now i'm happier at a new place, with higher salary. We should know our worth!

Exactly! That’s the way to do it. No bonus/increment... resign. You talk about how fresh grads demanding for higher salaries, but when it's time for a raise, suddenly there's no budget? Such a major red flag. If a company isn’t proactive with salary bumps, how do employees expect to stay loyal??? Lmao.

To be honest. Usually jumping jobs will bump salary 20 to 40 percent more. staying in the same company will usually bump salary by 10-15 percent. So yea in a sense thats why the boss said its too high. Dont ask me why is it like that. thats just how the market is, from my own experience

Congrats on the offer! But i’ve always wondered why companies don’t just keep their promises. It wud be a waste for them to loose someone like you.

I’m so satisfied reading your story. Kudos to you for knowing early that you deserved better. Some employers usually take this matter for granted and all they can say is “you have to gain experience first”
