Operations Assistant
HR played me so I played them back! Asked for $5.5k salary, matching the range $4-6k on their job ads. Successfully scored the interview & they're willing to pay my price BUT after seeing my payslip, they lowball me with $4.8k max. I pretended to be REALLY interested, so they excitedly sent over the offer letter thinking I'm down for their s*itty salary then proceeded to decline after 2 weeks saying the amount is too low for my level. Got ghosted afterwards but it's worth it 😎

LOL so petty but i love it!! That's how you teach some companies who like to lowball their potential employee! The fact that you've successfully scored the interview and they originally agreed to your expected salary shows that they have the budget to match yours. But instead of ACTUALLY give you want you deserve, they choose to play it dirty. Naww man, you just dodge a bullet!

That's wild bro! Good on you for standing your ground. HR should stick to their own advertised salary ranges. What you asked for was right within their budget, not even exceeding the 6K mark. I bet they were a bit annoyed when they heard your decision😂

Uhh that's v savage. But remember it can actually backfire you and for me maintaining professional is important, even if they don’t. Burning bridges might feel satisfying in the moment, but it can impact your reputation in the long run. But that's good that you know your value la..

Super satisfied with your action. So selfish of them to lowball you that much then expecting you to work so hard for them.

That satisfaction! Done that but i just got unlucky cause the company that I did, coincidentally had network with the company that I’m aiming for, then they went to report about me and I didnt get the job that I was aiming.. kinda regret a little

Understandable la why you're upset, but don't you think two wrongs don't make a right. Maybe next time, addressing the issue directly would work better. So in future it could be they offer you better salary? don't you think so?
