I used to think salary talk in SG was taboo, but times are changing. I realize more and more people are becoming comfortable sharing their salaries online and with peers. It’s amazing to see that we’re becoming more aware that keeping quiet only benefits companies, not us. Transparency empowers everyone! Salary talk isn’t scary, it’s actually motivating. The more we educate people about salary transparency, the better we become at advocating for pay equality for all.

I feel more safer to reveal salary if we stay anonymous, especially in here. But with closest friends, if you guys are okay to share, why not be openly talk about salary. But those you likely to keep it secret... isn't it kind of ironic that you people are not uncomfortable sharing your salary, but yet there is an obvious demand to find out how much you guys should be paid as a reference? So yet again, this salary transparency still in debate and will always be evergreen topic till today

salary wise, i do share with my close friends if they want to know, i’d like to ask them too as i wanna look for advice on how they manage their money and see if i can follow any good habits

I agree on not discussing salaries only benefits the employer. Unfortunately if we discuss among colleagues, it will turn out differently. it’s common for a corporation to terminate you for “something else” if they don’t like that you’re discussing salary. It’s can be pretty difficult too

I mean, if someone i trust then i agree to this, but if it's just a normal colleague, it's a bit too much to have that salary transparency talk. I'm a girlie with boundaries soz..

I've exactly one friend who i have no issues sharing everything honestly. Been friend with him for over one decade so we've seen each other at our lowest and highest. If I do well, he’s happy for me, and if he does better than me, I’ll be even happier for him.
