I have this habit of asking people about their salary. Not to compare or anything, but to understand if we’re really being paid what we’re worth. Most of the time, people shy away or just say “same like you lah.” But today was different. A new colleague shared openly, and it turned into a really honest conversation. I realized we’re both fairly valued, and that gave me some peace of mind. 😊 It showed me that when we start normalizing salary talks, it becomes less awkward and more empowering.

For me lah, discussing salary with colleagues feels like a bit crossing a boundary. I’d rather check market ranges online nowadays got a lot of sources you can check mah..

Honestly I feel uncomfortable when colleagues ask about salary. It feels too personal, and not everyone is ready to share and most importantly not everyone has good intention with you 🤨

Nice one! Next, we can normalise bonus talk also, then we really know if we’re all being “fairly valued” 😆

I wish more people saw it this way! But first you'll have to gain the colleagues' trust before asking them, so it wont be any sort of betrayal or anything 😇😇😇

It’s brave of you to even ask, I always hesitate haha xD But you’re right, knowing the market value helps us feel less anxious about whether we’re underpaid on the other side, it's gonna be awkward if you find out your colleague earns more/lesser than you haha.
