I used to be happy with my salary… now I’m not anymore. 😞 When I first joined 5 years ago, the pay felt good. I was proud of it. But year after year, the increments ranging from 3%-5%, once even 7%, just don’t feel like they match the work I put in or the rising cost of living. Despite my salary goes up every year, I am NOT HAPPY and I wonder, am I being ungrateful or everyone else also feels the same? Will we never feel satisfied with our pay? How much salary would actually make us happy?

🤨To talk about dis.. It never gets better. I'm 15 years working and still chasing that 'enough' feeling. After all, maybe that's just human nature 🤪🤪🤪 more salary = upgrade lifestyle

I think I’d only start to feel truly happy with my salary if I’m earning around $10k–$15k/month. Not to splurge or flex, but because that feels like a decent amount to save, pay bills, enjoy a few nice things, support my parents a bit, and not constantly stress about money. With my current earning, everything just feels like surviving. That number I wish I get, would feel like living. Do you get what i mean?

outside market is also between the range of 3%, or 3.5% bare minimum for MNC, and up to 6% for SME. 1st time hearing you are getting 7% (consider not bad). stay put.

Still remember my lecturer in uni told us, learn to live with what you have cause you'll never know when is actually enough to start living. I mean, if everything else is fine, then you should just stay for a bit before starting a new adventure

Ask yourself what do you want to do ? Do you see yourself sitting at the same company doing the same job ? Upgrade yourself even I work in IT industries keep on upgrading. I am not teaching the bad thing but go apply a job quietly after you have upgrade yourself trust me employer will look at your CV but 50-50 if you get the job.

If you feel stuck, maybe just a casual conversation with your manager about your career growth would help? Sometimes they simply think we're okay with anything until we actually tell them 😇

Been there, done that. Spoiler alert: changing jobs doesn't fix it either. New company, same BS. Different numbers on the paycheck, same feeling of being undervalued :3
