Been working for 6 years with a poly diploma, but my salary is still stuck at $3.5K. I’ve been applying for $4K+ roles, but after countless rejection, i begin to wonder.. does my 6YOE mean NOTHING in comparison to a piece of degree cert?? TBH, I'm not jealous or anything but seriously it’s SUPER FRUSTRATING that even being 6 years in the industry, I still can’t beat a fresh grad with 0 EXPERIENCE just because they have a degree! Tell me, how do i break past $4K? Get a degree too??

Just a tip for all people seeking for better offer, please please apply multiple jobs of similar roles. If more than one company accept you, you can ask abut their office culture, then negotiate the pay and work hours accordingly. Believe me.. the 10/20mins of applying to multiple companies (doesn't matter what job portal you use) is very worth it

Degree is nothing nowadays.... Many uni grads come out struggle to find a full time job because most of the jobs out there wants 2-5yrs of experience for an entry level role cause they don't wan to train new grads without experience... But paying entry level pay... Aka $3k range.... It's so depressing now even for uni grads seriously... Many stuck in the I need experience to get a degree level job, and downgrading to diploma level job to get experience gets rejected cause deemed overqualified..

I am degree holder with 8years experiences. have a few company want to pay as low as they can. Suprisingly, They want offer me with 2.5k ONLY. The bad company will try low ball as they can.. Find a good company can pay you based on your experiences and not only for your CERT. Lets not give up!!!!

Some fields are just obsessed with degrees, but it doesn’t mean your 6 YOE is wasted. Maybe angle your CV more toward achievements and metrics, not just job scope. Hope this helps! 😄😄

I think it's fine owning a poly certificate but having a degree or professional certificate makes things better. I also choose working after graduating Poly (diploma in accounting). Ngl the pay was bad. I used my earning so that I have money to continue my studies. It's good tho after gaining some experience at work, what you're about to theory study can actually made more sense and it helps to study better. Now i get promoted after i finished my studied

definitely with a degree would likely give you an easier path and more options for roles with higher pay
