Can somebody share with me how to get $10k/month salary? I used to think $5k salary is enough to live comfortably in SG but nowadays I feel like $10k should be the norm. Looking at how slow my salary hike has been for the past few years, I think it's about time that I start to aggressively find ways to increase it. I understand job hopping could potentially get me there but how often can I hop in a year? Also, is asking 20% increment each move, is considered a lot or reasonable? Thanks!

Hopped 3 times in 4 years and went from $4.2k to $9.8k. Best decision ever. 20% is not a lot tbh, some recruiters expect it. Just don't hop without levelling up your skills

Hello! I give you opinions from HR POV yeah. Actually you can get $10k salary. No problem. But switching every year will make you a walking red flag in any company's eyes. For me, switching every 2 years is still okayy. but asking 20% each time is a bit too much unless you're underpaid or absolutely in demand. Better you focus on adding values to yourself, then money will easily follow you later.

Jumping companies constantly without building deep expertise is a short term game. At some point employers want specialists not someone with 6 jobs in 5 years. Just something to seriously think about... just my 2cents

Don't just think job hop, think career positioning. Are you going for senior/lead titles? Sometimes one strategic move with a title bump beats 3 lateral hops. 20% ask is totally fair, don't lowball yourself!
