Sometimes I feel more like a firefighter than a developer. Our product team always throws us new feature requests without giving proper specs. No user stories, no detailed flow. Then expect us to roll it out in a week. When something breaks, we get blamed for not “thinking ahead”. Honestly, it’s draining. I want to build quality code, but it feels like I’m always rushing just to keep up. Is this just how startups work or is there a better way to manage this?

Same boat here. We joke that we’re not devs, we’re code paramedics. I think startups can be better, but only if leadership actually values process, not just speed.
