Is it true that to become a technician or electrician, you don’t really need prior experience? I keep hearing people say, “Just join first, you’ll learn on the job.” But is it really that simple? I'm quite interested in the field but I have zero background. Can you really pick up the skills along the way, or do employers still prefer those with some kind of training or certs first? Curious to hear from those already in the industry.

Hmm, yea you can learn on the job. But be ready for hands-on work and safety stuff from day one. If you’re serious, maybe take a basic electrical course first. It gives you more confidence and makes employers more willing to train you.
