Been seeing a lot of talk about UI/UX design lately and it sounds super interesting. I’m thinking of pivoting into it, but no idea where to start. 😅 Do I need to learn coding? What tools should I focus on? And is it possible to get hired without a design degree? If you’ve made the switch or are working in UI/UX now—please share your journey and tips!

A design degree is not mandatory, but you need some experience in UI/UX. Take some online courses and build a UI/UX case study.

I switched from marketing to UI/UX last year. no design degree! I started with free YouTube tutorials, then took a UI/UX course on Coursera. Tools-wise, Figma is your best friend. Coding helps a bit, but it’s not a must for designers. Build a small portfolio, even if it’s just mock projects.
