I recently started as a contingent employee at a large tech firm, and the onboarding was challenging, leaving me less enthusiastic. Being new to a big organization, I expected an adjustment period, but the resources provided were just links, requiring me to create my own materials. I also received a long task list with little context. 🫠
What’s the best way to handle this? Has anyone else experienced poor onboarding?

Ahh, so they gave you a bunch of links and a massive to-do list with no context? Like they expect you to just "figure it out" like some kind of corporate detective🕵️♂️🕵️♂️🕵️♂️

Opppp- I feel this. Nothing like starting a new job and realizing the “onboarding” is just a bunch of links and a prayer😂 Maybe reach out to colleagues who’ve been around longer. ANDDD don’t be afraid to push back and ask for more direction. Sometimes, managers assume silence = understanding. You’ve got this! Once things click, you’ll be just fine!! :)
