My advice is don’t take every rejection personally. I used to take it really hard whenever my boss rejected my work. I thought she didn’t like me and wanted to see me fail. But after a while, I realized she wasn’t being harsh for nothing. She's actually training me to think sharper and push myself further. Honestly, if she hadn’t been that tough, I don’t think I’d be where I am today. She taught me valuable lessons, and instead of seeing stumbles as failures, I now see them as chances to grow.

Not buying it. I've seen so many people burn out from bosses like this. Sure, some people thrive under pressure, but there are also people who quit their jobs or develop anxiety bcs of this. One size doesn't fit all when it comes to management styles :3

This is exactly why I wanted to start my own business. I'm tired of managers who thought being harsh was the only way to motivate people...

good advice! I used to cry in bathroom stalls after tough feedback sessions (embarrassing but true). Now I try to ask myself 'what can I learn from this?' instead of 'why does everyone hate my work?' Makes such a difference. So, i've learnt to look at things differently.

Actually reminds me of raising teenagers! Sometimes being the 'mean' parent who holds high standards feels awful in the moment, but it's really about believing in their potential. So we can say that your boss was basically parenting you professionally
